Say hello to our cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating natural body scrubs

When I had the idea to set up Bampton House, body scrubs were on the top of my agenda to try and make. I was desperate to find a 100% natural scrub that I really enjoyed using and it turned out to be a lot harder than I expected. After literally years of trialling and testing, my business partner Emily and I knew exactly what we wanted to achieve from our scrubs and over the last few months I’ve dedicated my time to perfecting them.

Now we are ready to reveal them and we are confident you’ll love them!

Mini exfoliating scrubs with ingredients

The breakthrough with the scrubs came back in April when I started experimenting with a new coconut based ingredient. Before this, to my frustration all my tester scrubs had fallen off my skin and gone down the plughole before any exfoliating had taken place. This clever natural gel helps the scrub to stay on your skin while you massage your body, enabling a trio of benefits;  cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating.

Now you might be surprised that I’ve included hydration in my top three requirements for our scrubs, as I don’t think hydration springs to mind when considering scrubbing away dead skin, but to me this was really important. The base of our scrubs is apricot oil, which absorbs quickly and gives a light hydration to your skin, without leaving you or your bath oily and slippery. The scrubs also work perfectly alongside Bampton House body oils and balms if your skin needs an extra dose of hydration.

The small granules in the scrub that provide exfoliation are in fact sugar. They provide just the right amount of exfoliation to do the job of giving you smooth skin, without being overly scratchy.

Once I had the base ingredients and consistency pinned down, my efforts turned to the scent. I knew our scrubs would have to have a punchy, fresh scent to awaken your senses in the shower of bath and after many trials we eventually settled on three delightful blends of essential oils. All three promise to give a scent kick to rival even chemical fragranced competitors.

Positive Mind (Rose Geranium, Patchouli and Sweet Orange) is our best selling scent – the essential oils help to balance emotions and relieve anxiety, lifting your mood. Beetroot is the magic ingredient that gives it a luscious soft pink colour that makes it looks good enough to eat.

Clear Mind (Peppermint, Rosemary and Lemongrass) will liven up your shower and clear your sinuses with a zingy, refreshing smell and a fresh feeling on your skin after - we’ve also already had great feedback this one in the salon as we use this as a foot scrub to soften the feet in our pedicures.

Happy Mind (Lime, Juniper and Lemon) is a brand new scent combination from Bampton House. The scent is inspired by summer and the gentle sunshine yellow colour comes from a small amount of turmeric. We love turmeric not just for the colour but for its antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties. This zesty scent is the perfect way to get your day off to a great start.

As ever we continue with our commitment to creating SLS, paraben and chemical fragrance free products. This is really important to me personally, because I suffer with eczema and as a Beautician I have my hands in Bampton House products daily - I need to use products that are gentle on my skin (and my clients’ too of course).

We hope you love them as much as we do. Let us know what you think in the comments below!

"If you want silky soft skin without using a harsh scrub this is the product for you! A fresh, zingy scent it’s a great way to wake the skin up before a morning shower. I use the Bampton House body oil afterwards which Feels very nourishing on the exfoliated skin and dries quickly. A mini spa treat every week."
